Why to bypass vast border belt of Akhnoor, Sunderbani, Nowshera from Railway link- Congress asks BJP

Jammu/Sunderbani ,August 11 (KIP)-J&K Pradesh Congress Committee has questioned the ruling BJP as to why the vast border belt from Jammu Rajouri via Akhnoor, Chhamb/Chowkichoura- Sunderbani- Nowshera has been totally bypassed and ignored in the long proposed railway connectivity to Rajouri- Poonch from Jammu and demanded immediate sanction of the pending project or face the ire of people.
Reacting strongly to the move of the centre government to bypass& abondon the original survey of rail link from Jammu to Rajouri- Poonch via Akhnoor, Sunderbani, Nowshera etc, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Mr Ravinder Sharma has questioned the ruling BJP as to why the vast area spreading fromJammu upto Rajouri via Akhnoor,Sunderbani ,Nowshera ,which faced the brunt of four wars and displacements ,time & again, has not been considered for grant of railway connectivity .
Lakhs of population of these border areas waited for more than half century in the hope of getting railway connectivity as a proposal was underway for years and finally a survey was conducted on the initiatives of AICC leader Rahul Gandhi in the year 2012, after the demand was forcefully raised before him in a public rally at Rajouri. A project costing over 13000 crore, was drawn ,creating a sense of satisfaction amongst people of twin border Districts to get railway connectivity. Unfortunately, after the change of government at the centre and Congress not getting representatives in Parliament and Assembly from most of the these affected areas ,the people lost a genuine voice and the project was put under carpet and finally abandoned to the detriment of the entire thickly populated areas.
After reports of centre abandoning the prestigious project the people are in great distress and anger and the BJP government and its representatives will have to face the ire of people, if the long overdue proposed project via Akhnoor, Sunderbani to Rajouri is not sanctioned without further delay .BJP leaders should be ready to face the strong resentment of the people.
Sharma said that it is good thing if Reasi - Rajouri is also connected from Katra - Jammu but the most vulnerable region from Jammu to Akhnoor/ Chhamb, Sunderbani- Nowshera/Kalakote areas should not be neglected.
