Kitchen Cabinet Expansion Unlikely, Says BJP Spokesperson Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia

Jammu, August 12 (KIP)-BJP spokesperson Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia, in a press statement issued today, said it is unlikely that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will expand or reshuffle his cabinet in the near future.

Dr. Jasrotia said the recent snubbing of an NC MLA in the House reflects Omar Abdullah's intent to continue relying on his inner circle. He added that the recent selection of candidates for the Rajya Sabha further exposed this pattern, with only those enjoying personal proximity to Omar Abdullah being rewarded with posts and power.

"This is a common practice in dynastically run parties," Dr. Jasrotia said, drawing a parallel with the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, where he claimed all those close to Akhilesh Yadav form his inner "kitchen cabinet."

The BJP spokesperson said the core problem with parties such as the Congress, National Conference, Samajwadi Party, and JMM is that they are person-oriented rather than organisation-oriented. As a result, he said, organic growth of leadership — or "Vyakti Nirman" (individual/leadership development) — remains impossible under dynastic politics.

He said this trend has left the country with a significant void of honest and credible opposition.

Dr. Jasrotia further remarked that NC MLAs hoping to become ministers are only "day-dreaming," and that such aspirations will remain a fantasy unless they add "flattery to their personal service" toward what he termed the "dictatorial leadership" of the National Conference.
