International Youth Day Observed with Focus on Drug Abuse and Youth Well-being

Sankoo, August 12 (KIP)-Under the guidance of Dr. Saleem Ahmad, Nodal Officer, Sankoo Campus, Government Degree College Kargil, the Red Ribbon Club, Sankoo Campus organized a programme on the occasion of International Youth Day.
The programme focused on substance abuse, mental health, and youth well-being. Mr. Ashiq Hussain and Ms. Najma Anjum, Counsellors from the District De-Addiction Centre, Kargil, along with Ms. Kaneez Fatima, Counsellor from the Health Department, interacted with the students and shared valuable information regarding the growing problem of drug abuse in society.
The resource persons also highlighted the support and counselling services available through the District De-Addiction Centre and Rehabilitation Centre for individuals affected by substance abuse. The programme was also organized in connection with the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, with the aim of spreading awareness among students about the harmful effects of drugs and the importance of seeking timely professional help.
A short Breakfree India activity was also conducted as part of the Red Ribbon Club awareness campaign.
The entire programme was conducted by Ms. Farida Banoo, Convener, Red Ribbon Club, Sankoo Campus, GDC Kargil. The programme concluded with a message encouraging students to stay away from substance abuse, support those in need, and make healthy and responsible choices in life.
