80th Independence Day Celebrated at Kharu

Kharu, August 15 (KIP)-The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at Kharu. The National Flag was unfurled in the presence of officers and officials of the Sub-Division, representatives of LBA Kharu and Indian Army, BRO, local representatives, teachers, students and a large number of residents.
Addressing the gathering, the SDM Kharu, Mohd Shabir extended warm greetings on Independence Day and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifices for the country. He also expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces, Police and other security personnel for safeguarding the nation.
Highlighting the development initiatives in Ladakh, the SDM said that under the vision and leadership of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, the UT Administration is working across sectors including education, healthcare, roads, water, power, sanitation, plantation, environmental conservation, tourism and cultural heritage.
