CGPWA celebrates I-Day, mass singing of Vande Mataram, patriotic songs

Jammu,August 16 (KIP)-The Central Govt Pensioners’ Welfare Association, Jammu (CGPWA) celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day on 15th August at its Wazarat Road office premises with full national fervor and gaiety. More than sixty pensioners assembled to greet each other on Independence Day. On arrival, each was presented Tricolor Angvastr and a small flag.
The President, Kuldeep Khoda along with Dr Ashok Bhan, Ashok Angurana and B R Sharma hoisted the national flag amidst singing of national anthem. Earlier, all members jointly sang Vande Mataram for the first time. The highlight of the function was the mass singing of soul-touching patriotic songs waving the Tricolor and supporting tricolor-Angvastr. Most of them became emotional especially while singing Lata Mangeshkar’s song-"Aye mere Vatan ke logon, tum khoob laga lo naara, Ye shubh din hai ham sab ka, lahara lo Tiranga payara”. A sumptuous party of Dogri cuisine was also organised to celebrate the happy occasion. The venue was decorated with tricolor buntings and the Tiranga.
