Jammu, August 24 (KIP)-Strongly condemning the latest threat letters reportedly targeting Kashmiri Pandit employees, Chetan Wanchoo, State Executive Member and State Co-Convenor, Department of Trainings, BJP Jammu Kashmir, has called for an immediate, high-level and time-bound investigation into the entire chain behind these threatening communications.
Wanchoo said the reported inclusion of names and personal contact numbers of Kashmiri Pandit employees is a matter of serious security concern and cannot be dismissed as an isolated incident.
“The biggest question is: who is providing the names and contact numbers of these employees, and how are these details reaching those issuing the threats? Security agencies must trace the source of this information and investigate every link involved in its collection, leakage and circulation,” Wanchoo said.
He demanded that agencies identify not only those directly issuing the threats but also anyone found knowingly assisting, facilitating or supplying information to such elements.
“If there has been an internal leakage of sensitive employee information, it must be thoroughly investigated. Anyone found deliberately compromising the safety of Kashmiri Pandit employees must face strict action under law,” he asserted.
Wanchoo appealed to Hon’ble Union Home Minister Dh Amit Shah and Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Sh Manoj Sinha to ensure that the matter receives the highest level of attention and that the security apparatus conducts a coordinated investigation.
Wanchoo said that such threats appear aimed at creating fear among Kashmiri Pandits and discouraging them from working and living in Kashmir.
“Kashmiri Pandit employees have every right to work in Jammu & Kashmir without fear. They cannot be made targets simply because of their identity or place of origin. Any attempt to intimidate them is an attempt to undermine peace and normalcy,” he said.
He stressed that the authorities must take all necessary preventive measures to protect vulnerable employees and ensure that credible threats are assessed promptly.
“The agencies must go deeper and expose the entire network behind such communications. Those who prepare the material, those who provide personal information, those who facilitate its circulation and those who attempt to create fear must all be identified,” he said.
Wanchoo appealed to all Kashmiri Pandit employees to remain vigilant, avoid panic and immediately report any suspicious message, call or threat to the police or concerned security agencies.
