CEC Kargil Inaugurates Two-Day Super-Speciality Medical Camp at QAAM Hospital

Kargil, August 29 (KIP)-Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today inaugurated a two-day Super-Speciality Medical Camp at Qambar Ali Akhoon Memorial (QAAM) Hospital, Kargil.
The camp has been organised by Al Reza Foundation in collaboration with B.R. Amandeep Hospital and Ujala Hospital, Srinagar, in memory of late Sajjad Hussain, an employee of J&K Bank and volunteer of Al Reza Foundation. The initiative also aims to provide access to specialised medical consultation and services to the people of Kargil, particularly those who may otherwise face difficulties travelling outside the district for treatment.
The inaugural programme was attended by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kargil; President, JUIAK; Medical Superintendent, QAAM Hospital; senior doctors of QAAM Hospital; super-specialist doctors from B.R. Amandeep Hospital; relatives of late Sajjad Hussain; volunteers of Al Reza Foundation; J&K Bank officials and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon appreciated Al Reza Foundation, the visiting medical team and QAAM Hospital for organising the camp and described the initiative as a noble effort aimed at extending quality healthcare services to the people of Kargil.
He said such initiatives would particularly benefit the underprivileged sections of society by bringing specialised medical consultation and services closer to their doorstep. He highlighted the importance of strengthening medical linkages between Kargil and specialised healthcare institutions in Srinagar and Kashmir so that people from the district can access advanced medical services without unnecessary difficulties.
The CEC stressed the need to explore a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between B.R. Amandeep Hospital and Al Reza Foundation to facilitate continued and structured medical services for the people of Kargil.
Dr. Akhoon assured that LAHDC Kargil would extend its full support to initiatives aimed at improving healthcare and education in the district. He also appreciated the doctors and staff of QAAM Hospital for their continued services to the community.
President JUIAK, Sheikh Nazir-ul-Mehdi, expressed gratitude to all the doctors, organisers and supporters associated with the camp, with special appreciation for the volunteers who contributed to making the initiative possible. He said the objectives of the Al Reza Foundation reflect a commitment to serving society and expressed hope that people would make maximum use of the specialised medical services being provided during the camp.
Representatives of the Al Reza Foundation thanked CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon for visiting and encouraging the initiative. They also expressed gratitude to all the associated doctors, QAAM Hospital, B.R. Amandeep Hospital, Ujala Hospital and other stakeholders for extending their support. The Foundation members said that providing such a platform for specialised medical consultation in Kargil would help make essential healthcare services more accessible to the local population.
The relatives of late Sajjad Hussain expressed heartfelt gratitude to the doctors of B.R. Amandeep Hospital and QAAM Hospital, as well as the CEC Kargil, for supporting and encouraging the initiative organised in his memory. They said the camp was a meaningful tribute to his service and commitment as an employee of J&K Bank and volunteer of Al Reza Foundation.
The Chief Medical Officer, Kargil, also appreciated the organisers and medical teams for conducting the camp and expressed gratitude to the relatives of late Sajjad Hussain for supporting an initiative dedicated to public welfare. He thanked the visiting specialists, QAAM Hospital doctors, Al Reza Foundation volunteers and CEC Kargil for their support.
The visiting medical team from B.R. Amandeep Hospital and other associated doctors also expressed gratitude to the CEC, QAAM Hospital, Al Reza Foundation, JUIAK, the relatives of late Sajjad Hussain and all those involved in facilitating the camp.
The two-day camp will provide specialised medical consultations and healthcare services to patients from Kargil, offering them an opportunity to seek expert medical advice from senior and super-specialist doctors without having to travel outside the district.
