9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 Launched at Khaltsi

Khaltsi, September 09 (KIP)-September 09, 2026: SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 9: Jammu, The 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 was launched today at Anganwadi Centre Khaltsi 3rd, located at Moravian Mission School, Khaltsi, with Deputy Commissioner, Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), as the Chief Guest.
The programme was organised by ICDS Project Khaltsi under the Ministry of Women and Child Development’s POSHAN Abhiyaan, as part of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and POSHAN 2.0.
The launch programme was attended by CMO, Sham, Dr. Shamim Ahmed; CDPO, Khaltsi, Tsering Youtol; ZEPO, Khaltsi, Kunzang Dorje; Principal, Moravian Academy School, Khaltsi, Samson; Principal, Lamdon Jamyang School, Khaltsi, Padma Angmo; Nambardar, Khaltsi, Stanzin Wangail; President, Ama Tsogspa, Tsering Lhamo; Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, subordinate staff, and a large number of women from the surrounding villages.
The 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah is being observed under the central theme, “Hamari Anganwadi, Hamari Jimmedari,” which emphasises community ownership and collective responsibility towards improving the nutritional status and overall well-being of women and children.
Addressing the gathering, DC Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo, highlighted the importance of nutrition in ensuring the healthy growth and development of children and promoting the health and well-being of women. She emphasised the importance of dietary diversity, adequate protein intake, maternal nutrition, child care and early childhood development.
The Deputy Commissioner also appreciated the efforts of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, describing them as important frontline functionaries who play a vital role in delivering nutrition and child development services at the grassroots level. She urged them to continue creating awareness among families and communities and ensure the effective delivery of services through Anganwadi Centres.
The campaign focuses on five key themes:
Dietary Diversity and Adequate Protein
Fresh Hot Cooked Meals (HCM) at Anganwadi Centres
Community Ownership and Accountability
Nutrition and Early Stimulation for Childhood Development
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)
A Poshan Pledge was also administered during the programme, wherein the Chief Guest, officials, Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, and other participants pledged to adopt and promote healthy nutritional practices and contribute towards improving the health and nutritional well-being of women and children.
CDPO Khaltsi informed that various awareness, outreach and community mobilisation activities will be conducted throughout the month through Anganwadi Centres and frontline workers to ensure wider participation and effective implementation of the campaign.
The launch of the 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 at Khaltsi reaffirmed the commitment of the district administration, frontline workers and the community towards building a healthy, nourished and empowered society, with special focus on women and children.
