Srinagar Film Festival opens new doors of dreams and opportunities for J&K’s women: Poonam

Jammu, September 09 (KIP)-J&K BJP Mahila Morcha State General Secretary Poonam Gupta said that the International Film Festival being held in Kashmir is a welcome initiative that can open new doors of dreams, creativity and opportunities for the daughters and women of Jammu and Kashmir.
Poonam Gupta said that Jammu and Kashmir has immense talent among its women and girls, who have the ability to excel in different fields of art, culture, cinema, music, photography, writing and other creative activities. Such talent needs platforms where it can be recognized, encouraged and connected with wider opportunities.
She said that the Film Festival can serve as an important platform for local women to interact with filmmakers, artists and other creative professionals from different parts of the country and the world. It can help them learn new skills, understand the changing opportunities in the film and entertainment industry and gain confidence to pursue their dreams.
Poonam Gupta said that women of Jammu and Kashmir have always shown courage, talent and determination in every field. From education and sports to entrepreneurship, art and public service, the daughters of J&K are making their presence felt. The growing cultural activities in the region can further encourage them to come forward and showcase their talent.
She added that women also need opportunities beyond traditional career choices. The film and creative industries offer possibilities in acting, direction, filmmaking, editing, photography, music, writing, animation, costume designing, technical work and many other areas. Events like the Film Festival can help create awareness among women about these emerging avenues.
Poonam said that the Film Festival is also important for Kashmir's tourism and local economy. Such events can attract visitors, promote local culture and provide business opportunities to women working in hotels, restaurants, transport services, handicrafts, artisan activities and other local enterprises.

Poonam welcomed the International Film Festival and expressed hope that it would become a regular platform for discovering and promoting local women’s talent.
