Awareness-cum-Orientation Programme Camp Conducted at Government Polytechnic College Jammu

Jammu, September 22 (KIP)-An Awareness-cum-Orientation Programme on Start-up Idea Challenge 2.0 and Boot Camp was conducted at Government Polytechnic College Jammu in collaboration with the JKEDI District Centre, Jammu, with the objective of creating awareness among students about entrepreneurship, innovation, start-up opportunities and various support mechanisms available to aspiring entrepreneurs.
The Start-up Idea Challenge 2.0 Boot Camp was formally inaugurated by Er. Talet Mahmood, Principal, Government Polytechnic College Jammu. While addressing the participants, the Principal encouraged students to develop innovative ideas, identify real-life problems and explore entrepreneurship as a viable career option. He emphasized the importance of innovation, creativity, technical skills and an entrepreneurial mindset in the present employment landscape.
The programme provided students with an orientation on developing innovative ideas into viable start-up ventures. The participants were apprised of various stages involved in the entrepreneurial journey, including idea identification, problem solving, business-model development, market assessment, innovation, incubation, mentoring and funding opportunities.
The Start-up Idea Challenge 2.0 Boot Camp further encouraged students to identify local problems and develop innovative and technology-driven solutions. Students were motivated to participate actively in the challenge and transform their ideas into sustainable entrepreneurial ventures.
Experts/resource persons from JKEDI District Centre Jammu interacted with the students and provided valuable guidance regarding entrepreneurship development, the start-up ecosystem, registration, mentoring and available institutional support.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. The initiative served as an important platform for promoting an innovation and entrepreneurship culture among Polytechnic students and encouraging them to explore opportunities for becoming job creators as well as job seekers.
The programme was conducted with the support and guidance of Er. Talet Mahmood, Principal, Government Polytechnic College Jammu, along with the faculty members and the JKEDI District Centre Jammu.
